Breitling Watches
For more than 120 years now, Breitling has been creating quality timepieces and still continue to rise to further heights of craftsmanship with every model manufactured. Founded by Leon Breitling in 1884, the business was successful in selling watches, with the chronograph as their specialty and best-seller. All of the Breitling watches were designed and manufactured in Switzerland, with Swiss parts, mechanisms, and components. When Leon passed away, his successors carried on the business, Gaston Breitling and Willy Breitling put the company into greater heights. Willy was the one behind most famous Breitling innovations: the aircraft chronograph, the slide rule bezel, the most famous model the Navitimer, and many more.
What makes a Breitling special? Breitling watches are recognized internationally for a number of reasons. Aside from proving chronometer-certified movements on every timepiece ever produced, the beautifully designed watches are created to withstand time, harsh environments, and years of intensive use. Complexity of the mechanisms, high-end design and aesthetic appeal, excellent craftsmanship and an elegant finish are the primary characteristics of Breitling cases. The dials on the watches are designed after how an instrument panel looks like, big enough to be read at one glance. On top of that, the materials on the chronographs and watches manufactured are glare-proof and scratch-resistant.
The four major, high popular models include the Breitling Navitimer, Breitling Windrider, Breitling Professional, and the Breitling Aeromarine. Every model manufactured must meet the Breitling stringent quality standards for durability on harsh and extreme conditions and intensive use whether on land, at sea, or in the air.
The brand is a consistent favorite of pilots, famous aviators, and many members of the Air Force worldwide. Noted personalities who are known to wear Breitling watches include Bruce Willis, Jerry Seinfeld, and Mel Gibson. Aside from manufacturing watches, Breitling is also known for sponsoring the Team Bentley during the Le Mans 24 Hours campaign that lasted for 2 years, from 2001 – 2003. The prize of a Breitling can be quite steep. The average prices of the steel, cased, and mechanical models start at $7,100 USD and the models that used quartz are prized at roughly $1,600 USD.
