Franck Muller Watches
Franck Muller, founder of Franck Muller watches, is the current president of the company and also holds the title of watchmaker. He personally designs the mechanism of every watch ever produced and is very keen on the design before the watches are introduced to the public.
Born in July of 1958, Franck Muller spent much of his childhood years growing up with his Swiss father and Italian mother in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. At an early age Franck eagerly showed his passion for watch making thus at the age of 15, he took watch making lessons. He graduated from the Swiss School of Watch Making sometime in the 1980's. Immediately after graduation he started to repair high quality pocket watches. Franck Muller became in charge of repairing and maintaining watches from the collection of Patek Philippe. His client base grew, made up mostly of private individuals and museums. It was during these years what his fervor for the mechanisms of complicated timepieces grew further and Franck started to think of building and setting up his own workshop.
Soon enough Franck Muller started to make his own timepieces and designed his very own tourbillon wristwatch in 1984. Since during those years only a very few number of watchmakers are capable of producing creating complicated timepieces, Franck Muller quickly gained popularity. The number of his private clients kept on increasing and continued to anticipate his new creations; this was when his business began to grow. In was in 1991 when Franck officially opened the House of Franck Muller and his collection of watches with very complicated mechanisms immediately became well-known across Europe and in the US. In year 2001 the Franck Muller Watchland was formally inaugurated. Located on a 38,000 square meter-private park, the facility houses all the steps of the watch production process: design, creation, engineering, study and development, prototypes, movements, stamping, watch making, casing, and finishing.
Today, Franck Muller produces a limited number of watches with a variety of designs. Year after year watch enthusiasts look forward to his World Premiere. Franck Muller a new invention annually, a new line of timepieces that the watch making industry has never seen before. This tradition started in 1983 when he unveiled his Tourbillon, in 1986the Tourbillon with jumping hours, the Tourbillon with Minute Repeater in 1987, the inverted Tourbillon with Minute Repeater and Perpetual Calendar in 1989, and so on.
Among his famous timepieces include Colour Dreams, Crazy Hours, Revolution2, Revolution3, Endurance, and the Master Banker. Some of the richest and most powerful millionaires are famed to be part of the private clientele of Franck Muller. Famous personalities like Elton John, Demi Moore, and Robin Williams are also known to wear Franck Muller watches.
