It was in the year 1885 when the first digital models of the ICW watch came to be, but like most ideas that wanted to replace traditional modes at this time, the idea failed to flourish. After the great war, the International Watch Company went through a complex innovative phase that had far-reaching consequences for the whole of the ICW organization. In 1969, the Beta 21 line of ICW watches was introduced to the world for the first time. The period of the 1900s to the sixties marked the expansive change in the type of mechanized and industrialized production that was the International Watch Company was capable of. In the beginning phases of the change, expensive power lines were rigged to the machines that were used to produce the ICW watches; later on, the mechanization and the utility of electricity had been converted to more individualized and efficient ways, and eventually, the International Watch Company had truly been introduced to the modern industrial age, like most of the factories that are being run in the Swiss area of the globe. The move was significant and vital to the survival of the company itself.
Another popular line of watches from ICW was the Portuguese line, which focused on simplicity and elegance for the individual on the go. Other watches that have made their presences felt on the market were the ICW Da Vinci and the IWC GST.
What particular personage has been personified as one of the leading characters to represent the spirit of the International Watch Company? None other than the popular and best-loved aviator and author, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, who is best known throughout the world as the author of the touching work if literature, the novel The Little Prince. In the year 2007, the International Watch Company put into an auction its platinum rendition of the automatic version of the Antoine de Saint-Exupery ICW watch.
